What are y’all doing during the heatwave for outside enclosures? Just letting them ride it out? My western Hermann’s tortoise hatchling is burying himself in the substrate—which is definitely way lower of a temp. Just not sure if I should add a fan across the top or something…
I have a heavily planted, raised bed for my western hermann hatchling, but living in the South (US) means record heat this week.
If the temps inside of the raised bed reach over 100+, is it okay to use a clip on fan as long as I maintain misting to ensure nothing dries out? At what temp should I be worried during a heat wave?
The substrate is about 6 inches deep and he’s buried himself. I know he’s technically cooler a few inches below, but again, this heat wave is NUTS. At what point do I intervene?
