29m Michigan stuck in autobody looking for career advice?
Been working for an individual autobody for about 7 years, I have basic mechanic skills and basic body/bando skills, not the best at working out damages as sometimes I feel like I have a hard time with bando and dents but everything else is fairly easy. Mainly did interior work, like drop head liners, replace airbags, change sunroofs. Basically felt like an assembler/dissembler guy, I like the job but no career growth. The boss is great guy but just never really gave me more work to grow as much as I asked. Making 25 hour no benefits. So I’m basically looking for a different career change or advice, only have high school education and no certs. No kids, still live at home with parents. Poor so can’t afford school lol I tried trucking and obtained my cdl (chauffeur license now) but do to family issues I had to leave during training and never tried again but I always thought abt it. Long story short, looking for advice from people who left autobody or are still in it, is it worth it or is there something better. Any career advice would be really appreciated. Thanks, sorry if this is everywhere not used to posting on here lol.
