Decipher b/w tabs?
Good Morning everyone, my friend’s father has tasked me with finding out what tabs his grandfather is wearing in this photo here? Tracking the photo isn’t great, taken approximately 80 years ago. and partially cut off. This is my first post on reddit, I hope this is the right way to go about inquiring here.
Bit of information on the Veteran:
Percy Frank Picton, born Clapham, London.
Served with the 7th battalion in the Duke of Cornwall’s light infantry in England joining August 1914 to Dec 1916
Arrived in France July 1915 promoting to LCPL Aug 1915. Front line trench warfare ensued in France Along the “Bois du Bois” in Petillon.
He then went to Somme Dec 1916,
Redan Ridge,
Battle of Guillemont
Les Boeufs
Then commissioned as an officer training between 1917-1918,
2nd LT from May 1918 on the Macedonian (Salonika)front
Jan 1919: trans-casucasus front.
That is all the info I have so far on LT Picton, hopefully I can line up the tabs in his photo to some of these conflicts and find out anything else about his service. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers everyone 👍
