I am a first year biomed student, and was looking at spaces in medicine and saw that their was only one spot available for students from refugee backgrounds this year and 23 were invited to interview this year, I was wondering if my chances were better if I just applied under general category? As a 23 to 1, interview to medicine place ratio is absurdly high.

I got the information from interview data from last year, https://www.auckland.ac.nz/assets/fmhs/study-with-us/clinical-admissions-selection/2026-entry-mmi-invite-gpa.pdf
