Has anyone stayed at the Renaissance hotel?

I’ve read some posts that talk about how the beach there is difficult to swim in due to low tide most of the day. Given that I plan to lay on the beach most days, that is concerning me.

Villas look great. Any advice?

Edit: also read that Lamai has box jellyfish right now! I’m heading there end of August

Accomodation for 5 day trip

I’ll be in Koh Samui for 5 days, and of August. Looking for a resort that is off the beaten path but still offers all the amenities.

Traveling alone, prefer adult only vibes (not traveling with kids). I just want to relax on a beautiful beach for five days and not do much.

Wellness focused amenities are a bonus. Any tips? TIA!

American in HK for business, looking for an easy trip to a nearby country

I’ll be in HK for a week for business. Once the work trip is over I’d like to take trip to somewhere in SE Asia. Philippines? Thailand? I am looking to find an island beach to relax and do nothing. Any recommendations? Appreciate any tips that you may have.
