Having trouble breathing OUT after wearing cpap a week.
Up until today I’ve been fine but I had a little bit of what felt like an asthma flair this morning, took my inhaler- went on about my day. I noticed it was difficult to breathe OUT. Noticed it more when I talked. I can talk- but honestly it feels like I’m taking against the cpap pressure on a high setting while I’m not wearing it. Progressively got worse during the day until about 5pm
Got so bad I went to the ER (History Asthma/COPD) and have sent both my PMC and Pulmonologist notes with the whole spiel will get a response from them tomorrow , but I wanted to see if anyone else has this?
I have the LunaG3 with a resmed nose mask(can’t remember which it has the hose that swivels at the pot of the head). Ahi was 28 on sleep study, it’s been .3 or under with the cpap. Prescribed 5-20, haven’t gone above a 6. Something.
Er work up looks good. Nothing wrong on EKG, O2 on room air is 100, bp is 127/80 - 134/81(hello anxiety?). D-dimer came back clean and troponin in normal levels (they’re doing a second before releasing me just to be sure. Yep! I’m still here)
ER doc scratching her head because most asthma episodes or even pulmonary scary things are a hard time breathing IN. I can breathe in fine, but when I exhale or I’m talking to someone it feels like there’s a small (not elephant crushing, like a 2lb weight) on my chest - centered on the sternum, and tightness in my neck. And it feels like when I talk I’m talking with the cpap blowing air in me - like the sensation of kinda pushing to get the air out. But obviously I’m not wearing it.
Kinda scared, tbh. But I’m hoping this is one of those “your lungs have been hella working out in your sleep, you’ll get used to it” kinda things? Idk.
