Help! Ferritin at 2
Hello! I have made a post before about my issues, I recently had a referral made by my consultant to get another IV iron. I unfortunately have had anaphylaxis to two previous ones and I can’t absorb iron tablets, my ferritin is now at 2, my consultant said it needs to be sorted immediately otherwise if it gets any lower it could have fatal effects, I’m absolutely terrified, I’ve had constant heart pain and my fingernails and lips are blue most of the time which I’m assuming is the low oxygen 🫠 my gp rang me today and basically refused the IV iron, he didn’t give a reason why, I told him I was comfortable trying again (I’ll try anything at this point) as my consultant prescribed me antihistamines to take up to a week before the infusion to hopefully stop the reactions. I’m so upset and so lost, he basically laughed at me and my mother who was helping me throughout the phone call and said I ‘wasn’t depressed’, I didn’t know the gp’s could just outright refuse what the consultants have said?
