How to know when you’re ready to go back to work after excision surgery?
I’m now 4 weeks post laparoscopic excision surgery. The surgery was more complex than anticipated (stage 4, superficial + DIE with multiple adhesions and organ involvement) and I also had a pretty nasty UTI that wiped me out for the whole of week 2-3.
I originally was signed off for 4 weeks from work, but have been signed off for one more week (5 total) due to the UTI set back.
My question is - how will I know I’m ready to go back to work?
I know I have one shot at healing from this, and I am still so fatigued. I’m yet to have my first period after surgery (my last one failed to show up), and I hear this could be pretty bad. I’m lucky that I can WFH 2 days per week in my job, but I’m not sure I have the energy to even sit at a desk for 8 hours and deal with the stress.
