song help! 80s or 90s style song
Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to find a song I heard at a party and it’s been driving me crazy.
What I remember:
Female vocalist (not very belty / more neutral or slightly robotic tone)
Fast late 80s or early 90s dance/freestyle-style track
The intro sounds almost exactly like “Point of No Return” by Exposé

Very similar synth + drum pattern right at the beginning (that “dun dun dun dadun dun dun…” type rhythm)
I thought I heard a repeated lyric like “(something) lover” in the lyrics, but I’m not 100% sure. the “something” word might of began with a V or had a V in it? and it’s not the song secret lover.
the kid that played it was in his early 20s so again not sure if it’s an authentic freestyle song it it sounded just like one. like i said the intro/beat is almost identical to point of no return
It was played as party music (likely in a freestyle/dance mix)
The biggest clue is really the intro — it feels like it uses the same or very similar synth/drum template as “Point of No Return,” just a different song.
Any help would be seriously appreciated — even close guesses.
