17M asking for advice (iPhone 11, EOS 700D)

Hey guys,

17M here. Been getting into photography properly recently and wanted some advice from people who actually know what they’re doing 😭

Currently shooting on an Apple iPhone 11 and a Canon EOS 700D.

Lenses I have rn are the kit lens and a Tamron Macro Telephoto 70-300mm.

Mostly shoot random stuff honestly.
Street shots. Friends. Cars/bikes. Night photos. Sometimes portraits when someone agrees to stand still for 2 seconds.

I mainly edit on Lightroom Mobile. Sometimes Apple Photos too. Added a screenshot of the apps I use on my iPhone as well.

These photos are from my recent trip, and the last 3 were shot yesterday while just walking around with friends.

I feel like my pics are “nice” but not memorable if that makes sense. Like they don’t have that feel yet. Trying to make them look more intentional instead of just “I saw thing. I clicked thing.”

A few things I wanted advice on:

- how do you make photos feel more cinematic/natural?
- what should I focus on learning first?
- should I even spend money on lenses rn or just improve my skills first?
- any low light tips for the iPhone 11 because night shots either look amazing or absolutely cooked
- and what’s a mistake you made early on that you wish someone told you sooner?

Not trying to become some insane pro photographer rn. Just genuinely enjoying it and wanna improve.

Would love any advice/criticism 🙏

P.S. Mods, I dunno which is the Right Flair, So choosing Discussion
