Can I get into a decent mph program with my GPA?
Hello,
I am hoping to apply to mph programs in about a year or so but would like to know if I should try to even apply for top programs. I have about one semester left until graduation and I have a 2.9 gpa. I’m majoring in neuroscience and have both clinical and lab experience (focuses on addiction), and have been regularly volunteering at a hospice center. Realistically speaking, I know I’m not a competitive applicant as I don’t think my gpa is high enough, but I keep thinking “what if”. Idk I am simply looking for guidance and advice. The drop in my gpa occurred my junior year and it’s pretty difficult to raise it in only 1 year. I’m on track to getting A’s this term (taking summer classes) and I am registered for 16 hours fall semester (hoping to get A’s). This will hopefully break me even for a 3.0. I have several schools picked out that I feel I could be admitted to and would like to go but I really want to go to a top program. I’m debating if I should do a diy post bacc program or try to gain job experience for about a year before trying to apply.
Any and all advice is greatly welcomed. Thank you.
