Hi all, I am looking for something that is identical in scent to almond extract. Does anyone know the distinctions between natural Anisaldehyde and Benzaldehyde? I am looking into both for adding to my body oils. I am aiming for vanilla almond. Any suggestions appreciated!
I am new to perfumery. I am making a full body oill. These are the ingredients I have available: vanillin, Ethyl Maltol, caramel acetate, isobutavan, and sotolone. I feel like I can barely even smell the vanillin when I create samples with and without it. Am I missing something? I diluted it to 20% in DPG and it dissolved perfectly in fractionated coconut oil. I tried blends with JUST vanillin + ethyl maltol, zero scent. of course i can smell the sotolone and isobutavan in blends with those but how do I achieve a pure vanilla smell alone? Why can't I smell the vanillin?
