I'm curious if anyone has had experience or have heard first hand experiences about being a GISS(T) or GISS.

I'm interested in understanding it better as a qual or even as part of a full-time Geospatial Analyst position for the feds.

Context: I've worked in primary fire for a few years, I'm trying to think more long term about options if I decide to have a family. I'm looking for ways I could still be involved in fed fire someway and not take too much of a paycut and not be on the front lines. I have college certs/coursework already in GIS so that's not a problem.
