What company to book with

I’m currently exploring the companies offering a 5 day Salkantay Trek.
Does anyone have anything to say about Machu Picchu Reservations, Salkantay Trekking or Alpaca Expeditions? I’ve read some odd things online about Machu Picchu Reservations, but I know my boyfriend’s friend used them and seemingly had no issues.
Is the higher price for Salkantay and Alpaca worth it (better accommodations, better food, better guides, etc.)?

Waterproof vs non waterproof boots/shoes for 5 day salkantay trek

I’m thinking about Machu Picchu for May 2027 and am curious about what type of shoes I should bring. Should I bring a mid boot or a hiking shoe/trail runner? And should they be waterproof? I hear mixed things about this one as obviously waterproof shoes help to keep wetness out but can also keep the sweat of your feet in.
I currently have a pair of waterproof merrel Moab boots and a pair of Salomon Xt6 that aren’t waterproof. Additionally I have a pair of Keen boots that I believe are waterproof and a pair of Keen Jasper hiking shoes. Any advice on what I should bring will be very helpful as it’ll be the shoe I’m gonna focus on wearing and breaking in more for hikes before leaving.

Hiking pant recommendations for trek to Machu Picchu

I’m looking for a baggy/oversized hiking pant that won’t break the budget and is available to ship to Canada without crazy import fees. The kind of style I love is the Kawa Cicada Pant for reference. I’m looking for something that’s durable and will keep my body temperature warm/regulated for a trek to Machu Picchu in April. Ideally, I’d like for the pants to be weather resistant/waterproof

Notice the Reckless Sizing

Need help deciding what size of Notice the Reckless pants to order. I’m between a Medium and a Large typically and am curious about whether or not someone can guide me in the right direction.
I don’t want them to be tight on the waist, but fit comfortably with room to both tighten and expand the waistband via the belt. I, of course, want the oversized look, but don’t want to be swimming in them.

Looking for Baggy Hiking Pants/Kawa Cicada Pants

Looking for baggy hiking pants from websites that ship to Canada and don’t have customs. I am STRUGGLING to find some that are what I am looking for. I am in love with the Kawa Cicada pants so ones like those are ideal. Also, has anyone from Canada purchased these and can tell me how much the customs were? If I did purchase from them, I’d get a pair for both my boyfriend and I so we would at least qualify for the free shipping.

EDIT : it’s ideal if the pants are also water resistant or waterproof but breathable and lightweight.
