How's she lookin?

Right knee partial medial meniscectomy done on Friday, it's now Tuesday. The steri strips fell off the incisions on their own on one side, still hanging on on the other side. Follow up appointment is on the 26th. So far the hardest part of this was the first 24 hours because of my sensitivity to anesthesia, and difficulty getting in touch with my surgical team to answer questions I have/had

Stressed

Partial medial meniscectomy today. I had medical questions after surgery. Was told "oh your surgeon will be able to answer those" oh okay when do I see him? "He left for the day" 🫪 uhh okay "it's okay he left you with paper instructions" great!!! *opens instructions to find a mostly blank page*

It's Tuesday, surgery is Friday, maybe...??

So I'm supposed to have a knee arthroscopy on Friday and I can't get ahold of anyone. Literally anyone. No one from my orthopedists office is calling back, no one from the hospital is calling back. It's Tuesday. By now shouldn't I have gotten a pre-registration call about what meds I can continue to take or not take in the days before my surgery? This is new to me so I'm trying to figure out how it worked for everyone else. Even my insurance says they've gotten no prior authorization for my surgery and if they don't get it AND approve it by Friday then I'd be fully billed. I'm so lost right now, but maybe I'm also stressing too soon?? I don't know how this works, this just seems very last minute to get everything done

Sleep...?

Bone on bone arthritis in both knees. Bucket handle meniscus tears in both knees. Bone marrow edema in the right knee...

What position would you best fall asleep in? 😭

I sleep in 3 different rooms every single night just trying to get comfortable somewhere somehow

Butthole Shingles

Well.... This sucks. My left butt cheek went numb recently and I was getting sizzling pain down my left leg. I've had sciatic issues for nearly 3 decades so I just thought it was the usual BS flaring up

And then the rash formed

Collected on my sciatic nerve and worked its way DOWN....in between my cheeks and everything else down there to the inner left thigh

The pain is so severe that my knees actually feel great right now (been suffering from double bucket handle meniscus tears). My knees feel 20 years old again but my butthole feels 80

Inpatient eating disorder facilities

Hi all, I'm a 41 year old woman with lifelong BED. Between my weight and sports injuries, I'm now looking at needing both knees replaced. The hospital will not accommodate to do the replacements unless I lose more weight, but pain is a huge trigger for my BED. It's a cycle that I can't get out of and my pain isn't being managed and it's giving me extremely poor quality of life now. I'm starting to feel like my only resort is to temporarily institutionalize myself. So I'm looking for recommendations for addiction or eating disorder facilities for adults who will be 24/7 inpatient. They don't have to be women only, at this point I'm desperate and just need whatever will accept me fastest and be the cheapest. If you know of any facility like this in South Austin or in areas like Buda, Kyle or San Marcos please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help

No one listened to me, so I paid for the MRI myself out of pocket

I have suspected I had bone marrow edema since February. Ortho didn't listen. Paid for the MRI out of pocket and this was on the results along with a bucket handle meniscus tear. What's next? Anyone have experience with this? At this point I've dealt with it for at least 3 months
