Everyone who’s going/planning on going… GC?

I'm a 17 y/o who just completed 12th and thinking of a taking a gap year so I can pursue communication design from a decent college.

I've already built a decent portfolio but it isn't anything truly useful because it contains my ideations only. My projects are not thorough or detailed and nor have I experienced any actual critique from an employer.

I understand that having a successful design career can only be achieved by having experience. So in the following year, I'm aiming to create as much as I can and make a place for myself/find a niche.

I'm pretty confident with the tools that I use and don't really need a course or anything for that. I just want to learn how to put myself out there.

So, what should I learn so that I'm more approachable?

TL;DR - I'm 17 and want to freelance for design projects just to gain experience, how should I start?
