How do I get started?
Hello I am moving to Seattle on July 1st, I really want to try and get a job as a fish processor on a boat. I am physically fit and perfectly okay with monotonous work. I really want to try and get into this line of work. I have done a couple applications online. 1 rejected me and the others have not gotten back
1.) is the timing I am arriving to Seattle okay I am slightly confused by how the “seasons” work and what not
2.) my work experience is pretty much all in an office setting. I have minimal experience in a restaurant as well. Will this be okay?
3.) do I need to know someone to get hired or can I just keep applying and eventually land an offer?
Any advice whatsoever is appreciated
EDIT: I got a call back from Ocean Peace and they seem interested in offering me a position the lady I talked to gave me her number and told me to call back around mid June since that is closer to when I will be out in Seattle. So I will call them then. I’m going to keep applying and if this doesn’t work out then I’m just going to try a shore processing job in Alaska. Thank you all for the advice whatever ends up happening I did learn a lot about how the whole process works
