First time passport application from UK, received 1 supporting doc back in post while the application is still 'processing'
Hello. First time passport application from UK.
Supporting docs were received 6th March 2026, original timeline was for April printing, but I got an email alert on 30 April saying they weren't happy with my passport photo or my birth certificate. My fault on the certificate, I stupidly sent the short version without my parents names on it.
Uploaded new photo, and full birth certificate marked as received on the tracker on 14 May. Since then, it's been 'processing' with an estimated print date of 5th June.
However, just received the full birth certificate in the post this morning, no other supporting docs or even a note or email alert that it was being returned. Has this happened to anyone else? I've tried connecting to chat and calling a few times over the last week but not been able to connect on chat or get through to anyone when I call.
The email alert requesting I send the full birth cert gave me a new submission reference number, in addition to the application number - wondering if it's a different team, and they just checked and approved the full cert and sent it straight back because that's all they needed...?
