As I've learnt from this subreddit, beginners should focus on upgrades that help farm souls as it gets exponentially difficult to farm enough souls for soul tree upgrades as we progress in the game.

I've unlocked the boss tower, but haven't unlocked geodes yet. I'm half way through p2 of the soul tree. Can people answer a few questions:

1. How far should I progress in boss tower before soul tree p5? [I read that we get legendary drops by some upgrade in soul tree p5 so we shouldn't clear out the boss tower. ]

2. Should I save up on certain souls for future upgrades?

3. Are there any upgrades that aren't worth it?

Don't upgrade, even to silver league, unless your stats are really good or you've decided to beat 800-1200 golems (only 110-125 golems is likely for F2P players). I had earlier decided not to but only did it so I could post about the pros and cons.

I dunno why they made lv15 boss the threshold for league progression when lv 16 boss was still impossible to beat (you can forget about lv 20)

And the next day you start from lv1-20 in the next league. So stats wise, it's a really really bad deal. If it were up to me I would only allow players to enter the next league if they can beat the lv 20 boss

Earlier I could beat lv15 boss. Now I'm not sure if I can beat lv11 boss. You can compare the rewards, it isn't worth the league progression.

Pros

1. Golem stats don't increase if you go up a league.

2. Rewards are slightly better (but not enough to justify missing out on 4 tiers of rewards)

Con

1. Boss stats increase significantly.

2. Can't go down a league so I'm at silver till I reach Gold.

3. If I progress to the next island, the golem and boss stats are scaled to match the difficulty of the toughest island. So now I'm afraid to progress in the game

I figured I was to get 2 copies of common and uncommon equipment but it's very inconsistent. Am I missing something here?

EDIT: So I'm actually getting 2 copies for both common and uncommon equipment. The game only states the number of copies received for equipments that are evolved. I verified this by looking at the damage increase of the weapon and compared it with its stats (damage per copy) and it made sense

I hope I'll reset to the pool tomorrow otherwise I'll have to start the event in order to get out. Usually I do the event after I've almost finished with everything

I don't have geode unlocked... I know it's barely been a week since I installed this game but the progress is so slow and I'm too broke to spend money. Any drawbacks of I do the golem glitch or farm souls?

Also do I need to turn the wifi off?
