Garmin CIRQA in the MRI Department: 3T and 1.5T Experience

Hey guys! I’m a full time MRI tech who loves running and working out. I’ve always loved wearing my Garmin Forerunner 265, but I’ve been hesitant to bring it near the magnet. Constantly taking it off and putting it back on is a hassle, so I recently purchased the Garmin CIRQA as an alternative.

Interestingly enough, I accidentally brought the CIRQA into both the 3T and 1.5T MRI environments throughout an entire workday and realized it was still functioning perfectly fine afterward.

I’ve been wearing it for the past three weeks without noticing any issues, so I wanted to share my experience with other MRI techs and tech aides who enjoy tracking their vitals, steps, and daily activity!

Disclaimer: This is just my personal experience, not confirmation that the device is MRI safe. Please continue to follow your facility’s MRI safety policies and procedures.

Radiology ravers?

Hey everyone! I saw a post earlier asking about nurse ravers, so I wanted to see whether anyone from radiology is going to EDC Orlando. Any X ray, CT, MRI, IR, cath lab, ultrasound, or other imaging people attending?

I went to my first show this year and saw Kai Wachi at DAER, and I loved it. This will be my first EDC, so I’m super excited!
