Got Additional Rewards Back

Like many of you, I lost my additional rewards around the time of the oracle acquisition.

My content is original, non-AI, and quite niche.

This month, I figured out what I was doing wrong, and turned it around. I’ve been writing about this and more TikTok strategy and optimization insights. If you’re interested, please DM me.

I had initially hoped this sub would be a place for people in the CRP to share tips and knowledge about making the most from TikTok, since god knows the platform is far from transparent and anything but consistent. However these days it seems like mostly spam, ads, and people looking for emotional encouragement here.

If instead you’re a more niche TikTok creator looking to optimize for growth, please reach out.

Southeast Asian Judaica

Bit of a long shot, but here it goes.

I’d like to get a gift for my friend who was just ordained as a reformed rabbi.

I live in Bangkok at the moment, and would love to find him a piece of Judaica made in Thailand, or anywhere in Southeast Asia. I’m aware there’s a small history of Jewish communities in Malaysia, Myanmar, and some other countries, but I can find any artisans or shops that sell any Judaica in a local style.

If anyone has any leads on artists or online resources I could use to find something, I’d be really grateful.

I think most of us in CRP have seen extreme volatility in RPMs and Additional Rewards since the Oracle acquisition, generally in negative ways. In my case, I had consistent Additional Rewards up until the end of February, and then as soon as March came around, they were gone, with the same kind of content. Some users on this subreddit reported the same thing, but I have yet to see any informed explanations — it seems to boil down to arbitrary algorithm bullshit.

(My content is not AI, is niche but regularly gets 20K-300K views, good engagement, retention, etc, for what it’s worth).

Anyway, I had pretty much given up on TikTok as an income source, but then suddenly on a video I posted on the last day of April, my additional rewards were back, and I got a $3.90 RPM. I was hyped to see this so I made a video in the same style the next day, which also got additional rewards, $2.60 RPM.

So of course I (cautiously) felt like the curse might be over, and began carefully making videos optimized to hit the same points as the first two, which were also very successful in terms of views and engagement. I’ve posted three videos since then, and all three have been without additional rewards — back to the $0.30 RPMs I was dealing with for the last 2 months.

Given this, I’m inclined to assume the Additional Rewards spike was an algorithm bug in my favor, but still feel like I should give up on this platform overall. I’m just curious if there are other similar experiences in the same timeframe, it would just be good to know if it was a systemwide thing, or have any more context.
