Been back in my hometown for a few days and realized how nice we have it in NYC. Back home people are saying that protected bike Lanes are a waste, that bike Lanes shouldn't be used, that cyclist don't even deserve to be on the road or paid attention to. We have it so easy guys compared to other places.

I guess what I'm saying is let's be a little more grateful because it could be a lot worse
So me and a friend were hanging out in the public spaces at The Graduate Hotel, which they open up for the public.

There was an individual there that was a little too friendly with my friend and made her uncomfortable. Come to find out the individual is a convicted felon that according to court records has some violent tendencies. Including strangling people.

What made us look him up was how upset he got when we informed him that we would be complaining in management about his behavior.

I would be extremely wary of using the spaces here or even visiting the establishment. We even took our complaint management at this place and we were told that we were overreacting and that we needed to mind our own business.

So I try to always ride in the bike lane because that's what bike lanes are for. And when I ride in the road I always try to stay as far right as I can to stay out of the way of traffic. But I am sick and tired of people that are running in the morning or evening running inside of the bike lane. It's time that the city actually start enforcing the laws of traffic. Pedestrians are clearly banned from using the road when there's an operable sidewalk. They need to stay clear of the bike lane because they're constantly causing bikes that have to swerve in the traffic because they don't know how to use a sidewalk.

What's all that being said, I also understand that bikes can be a bit of a pain to a lot of drivers. Especially when the bikes are not following the rules of the road. Like it's not hard for a cyclist to use hand signals to show which way they are turning if they are stopping or if there is a hazard in the way. Also, it's not hard for a cyclist to have lights on their bike at night time. Not to mention, the law requires it. The code of Virginia requires that bikes have lights visible up to 500 ft.

Drivers stop being idiots just because you are in a bigger vehicle. Does not mean you owned the road. We share the road. And in some areas bikes need to take the entire Lane. + There's literal signage that says bikes may use full Lane. So why can't we just all coexist?

This to say we need to coexist better and we all need to follow the rules. Pedestrians stay out of the bike lane, thanks. Use hand signals and stop for traffic. And cars. Stop being idiots

Attached is a photo of common cycling hand signals.
You know who you are. You are the individual that tried to run over a pedestrian that was crossing JPA at West Main. The person that you tried to run over is someone's son. Stop being an ass.
Anyone want to join tomorrow evening for a Drinking and watch party. Win or lose we celebrate.

Imma say rockfish brewery.
So if trying to only bike in Manhattan, what's your favorite way to bike at least 25 miles.
What was a time when it was more than a song, when it wasn't just a vibe, but it was literally life?
So about every day I make this ride when I enter the Bronx I'm typically taking Jerome all the way up to Woodlawn. Why is Jerome easier most days than the UWS?
Like I'm not from here I only moved here 2 years ago, but I never understood this.
