Can a landlord rescind a lease he signed and sent me if I hadn't signed it yet? (Virginia)
I live in Virginia. My lease ended in February 2025. Since then I have been month to month. There is a lot of back story as to why this happened and continued on the way it did, let's ignore that, it's not important to the issue at hand. Anyway, this morning he finally emailed me a new lease with the requirements I'd asked for, valid from 5/20/2026 to 8/1/2027. It was already signed and dated by him and he said I could return it at my convenience. I was at work so I didn't look at it and told him I'd go over it after work. I opened my email and he stated that we should continue month to month until August and then think about possibly "renewing" until August of 2027. I am not sure if it is still legally valid, and this was a rash decision, but I printed it out, signed it, and emailed it back to him anyway. Is the lease valid?
