PhD Student seeking help
So I'm starting a PhD in philosophy, and I have copious notes in OneNote, but am finding now that it is unruly and unmanageable because they are all 'close reading' type notes, rather than higher-level. I use a format of ;
Notebook = Topic (i.e. 'Love')
Section = Book / Paper
Pages = Chapter / Subsection
In each 'Page' I essentially have a two column table, with the left column holding the page numbers for later reference, and the right column being a mixture of quotations, comments, thoughts, and questions. I often use the native image tags (i.e. 'quote marks' for direct quotations, 'lightbulbs' for thoughts, and 'stars' for important things to consider) - see the image belove for a visual reference.
My question is, does anyone have any suggestions on how to migrate this kind of previous way of working and modify it into something suitable for Obsidian? I don't mean in the sense of importing (I've tried the importer, and it works for the majority of the OneNote native tags, but not for quotations) - I actually mean in terms of ways of working?
I.e. should I make a SOURCE note for the text, and then work through making notes that simply backlink to the source, and add in some key tags?
I'm essentially trying to adapt to a better and quicker way of working and linking ideas, whilst at the same time trying not to throw out the baby with the bathwater.
Thoughts/suggestions extremely welcome!
