Do people ever get a high first in humanities?

I've averaged about a 64-74 for my first two years of university while doing a bachelor's in sociology. i'm quite content because a 2:1 is really all i need as i look into graduate jobs later if i do (i have other aspirations lined up). that aside, my dad who never went to school is very disappointed in me for never being able to score a 90 plus even though i've told him that essay's arent marked like quizzes where you can get a point for each correct statement. that aside, i feel like 80s and above are mostly unattainable especially at an undergraduate level in sociology. he doesn't think i'm trying hard enough and its creating tension between us because i depend on him a lot. i guess this is a rant but it just has me second guessing myself. is the bar really high for 80+ or am i just missing something in my own essay writing that is capping me at like a 74
