My opinion on Reflectrial (discussion)
Anyone else dislike the new Reflection Mode?
I understand that this is meant to be new endgame content, which the game definitely needs since we’ve basically only had MD. But I don’t think that justifies the way this mode was designed, especially its difficulty and how heavily it feels like it pushes you toward pulling specific IDs.
If you’ve played Reflection, you know about the Shade of Reflection effects, the modes buffs and nerfs.
With Rufos version this actually felt reasonable. The first phase slightly buffed Bleed and Lust, and the second phase buffed Sinking and Gloom. It was a noticeable buff, but not too much. You can clearly see the synergy with the Ring IDs released alongside the Intervallo, but it didn’t feel mandatory to need these IDs. It didnt feel like a requirement.
You could and can still clear it easily without those IDs.
Ricardo’s version is a completely different story.
This time, the Shade doesn’t just favor a status or Sin type, it favors an entire team, the Middle. And if you want the best effect, you need 4+ Middle members. That’s not just a damage bonus either, it literally nerfs the boss by changing his attack patterns and nerfing skills into easier ones if you run the team.
That’s where this starts to feel kinda predatory to me.
On top of that, Phase 2 buffs Slash and Gluttony, which very clearly favors the Heishou IDs
(which are season-locked, by the way.) And to make things worse, they’re all Fatal to Blunt… which is exactly what Ricardo heavily punishes with his counter and unbreakable coins.
This is just a small rant about my opinion after finnaly finishing the new mode.
