How is my 4 day itinerary?
We are making our first trip to GNP July 4th-9th. Staying in Columbia Falls the first 2 nights then moving to the Pine Mountain Motel the next 2 nights before staying back closer to the airport the final night.
Day 1: We were able to get 2 Apgar shuttle tickets for the 10 o clock shuttle but is this too late to do the full hike of the Highline trail to the loop ? Assuming a 12 o clock start and hiking for 6-7 hours ? Better option to drive directly to Logan and arrive around 6 to hike maybe 2-3 miles out and back ? If we only do the short Highline trail we could add in another trail after lunch possibly trail of the cedars ?
Day 2: Park at Avalanche to hike Avalanche Lake trail out and back before lunch. Possibly head back to whitefish for lunch then try to go East to Logan Pass and hike the Highline Trail.
Day 3: super early morning to park at Many Glacier from Pine Mountain Hotel to hike Grinnell Glacier Trail. We have the boat reserved to bring us back across the lake.
Day 4: Hike Running Eagle Falls and Upper Two Medicine lake trail then head towards the airport (Missoula)
