Unsupported Device Android Auto

I recently purchased a used 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage G4. It's a great little car and it's working well. However I cannot get the USB to recognize my phone or any Android phone.

I can connect via Bluetooth just fine for calls and audio. But anytime I try to plug the phone into the USB so I can use Android auto it just says that it is an unsupported device. I have tried multiple different cords, including a brand new cord from Samsung itself. My partner has also tried plugging in their Motorola phone to no avail. I have not been able to find someone with an iPhone to try yet.

I also purchased a wireless Car Play/ Android auto dongle that plugs into the USB and hopes that that would work. It unfortunately did not. I am at a loss at this point. Some sources suggested doing a factory reset on the entertainment system, however I have not been able to make that work. Pressing the power button for any amount of time does not do anything other than turn it on and off. And I could not find any other description on how to do it in the owners manual.

At this point I think my next bet is trying to figure out going to a Mitsubishi dealership and seeing if they have an idea. But I wanted to see if anybody had any experience or thoughts here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
