Title says it. The epilogue really feels like a big let down. Definitely appreciate the additional items in store to make good use of dq1 coins so that's a plus. But the rest. Gosh ok yeah we're not the true hero of this world but kinda begs the question is this what we can expect in other events moving forward? To trip over the gravel right at the end? Any kind of psuedo true dragonlord form fight would have been nice. This could have been used as an opportunity to explain further narratively why/how the worlds got out of whack in the first place. We could have had some sort of stage where you do confront whatever malevolent force is behind this.

Instead it'll be something goofy like the record keeping fairy dropped the books or one of the tockle children accidentally used it as toilet paper or something completely ridiculous. Which would also be fine if they wanted to go more the comedy route but the blah is not a lane I want to stay in.

Gonna go back to huffing the hopium for the future.

Spoiler marked because I'll be talking about elements from a now almost 40 year old game and speculating from there.

I think we can all agree chapter 3 of this event was a little underwhelming, but the epilogue has every opportunity to fix that and end on the high note this series deserves.

In no particular order there is the fact that at least 16 keys remain and as pointed out that is the number associated with secret spots. But memorably the dragonlords castle has a treasure room of its own which I'm hoping is implemented somehow and could be a fun use of some keys, there's also the possibility that more keys will appear in the shop for additional doors and chests. Speaking of the dragonlords castle that's one obvious location not yet visited, also the sanctum south of rimuldar. If there were a 4th secret spot I'm curious where it would go. But we also gave back the relics of the world like the staff of rain and sunstone, so will we be making the rainbow bridge to assault the dragonlord directly and get that good moment of this isn't my final form. To quote roly, I thought he'd be more dragony.

Little sad the pixie flute doesn't seem to be making an appearance but maybe?

And in general it's funny to wonder if there's any overlap with the tockles as we go through this and hopefully other installments with events like this.

But also wonder what the reason will be given that we as the player can't alter events like beating the dragonlord ahead of the hero.
