Anyone got silent update on 485j around 5/1?

Background: EB2 ROW, not banned countries. Currently have 3 FTA0 on I-485. Emma said “interview waived.”

Has anyone received a silent update on your I-485j around 5/1? I received one on my 485j (not 485). Not sure what this implies. This silent update occurred during business hours.

How can this silent update on 485j mean?

Hello, my situation is a little tricky. I am currently in H-1B status. My I-485 has been pending for nearly one year, and my priority date is current. I have recently received a new job offer from another employer for the same position with the same job duties and a similar salary. I will leave my current position in mid-August, but my new position will begin on May 21. As a result, there will be a nearly three-month period during which I will be employed by both employers simultaneously.

Because the state in which the new position is located has currently frozen new H-1B filings, I will have no choice but to use my EAD to begin this new position. I understand that doing so carries the risk of losing my H-1B status, and that if my I-485 is denied, the consequences could be serious (based on Emma: my interview has been waived). Here are my questions:

1. Once I use my EAD to begin my new position in late May, am I also required to update my I-9 at my current job with my EAD as well, even though I will be leaving that position in mid-August? My understanding is that once I use my EAD, I will lose my H-1B status. Therefore, I assume I would need a lawful basis for continuing employment at my current job, even if only for the remaining three months.

2. Besides, last year and earlier this year, there were still reports that ICE was targeting individuals whose status had expired. Recently, I have seen fewer reports of such cases, but I remain somewhat concerned. Once I use my EAD, I understand that I will no longer hold non-immigrant status and will instead simply be awaiting adjustment of status. I wondered how significant the risk of deportation in my situation is. I have no record of any violations, not even a traffic ticket.

3. If my I-485 is still pending before mid-August, when should I generally submit Form I-485 Supplement J? Should I submit it before leaving my current job, or should I submit it immediately after I leave my current job?

I got a silent update on 4/27 like everyone did due to the recent enhanced background checks, but it was only on my I-485, not on I-485j. Today (5/1), I just saw a silent update on my 485j. Did anyone get this, too? Just wanted to see if this is another batch update without meaningful progress.
