New diagnosis IM CONFUSED

Hi. I am 29 yrs old. Two weeks ago, I saw a GYN for a general exam bc i haven’t been seen in 9+ years. During my new patient appointment, I had a Pap smear done and lots of blood work to look at my hormone levels, glucose, thyroid, etc. only chief complaint I had was heavy menstrual bleeding. 48 hours ago, I returned to my GYN for a transvaginal ultrasound which resulted in enlarged ovaries and multiple “cysts” being found on my ovaries. 20 mins after, I was diagnosed with PMOS (pcos) and now taking Metformin BID. My blood work came back completely normal. I do not have acne, facial hair, or unexplained weight gain. I have received a lot of information about PMOS and I don’t know what to do with it. How does my GYN know my body is insulin resistant? My testosterone levels are not high, I have normal blood pressure, I’m not pre-diabetic, I’m not overweight, my blood sugar, a1c, lipids are all normal. I’m just so confused. Does anybody understand where I’m coming from? Do I SERIOUSLY HAVE PMOS???
