A PC2 Rant the defintive edtion
Hey, I know this has been done to death but I honestly am so burned out with PC2 recode and roblox asyms as a whole, I felt I had to make this. I'm going to start with the fact that I actually like Pillar Chase 2 recode so much, so i would honestly say it's my current fav asym on Roblox. However, that doesnt mean I glaze it or anything, andIi do belive this game has Serious issues that some are personal gripes that are more fundamental, whereas others are just balancing things I think need reworking. This will be very long and contain a few VERY basic character concepts that should not be taken as a final idea, but just ideas that could make PC2 recode more fun and appealing
I will start with killers, as I actually believe the killer role is worse than survivor in this game.
First off, this is more of a personal issue, but I do believe this is a large factor into why the game has essentially died and why precode will be more popular than recode when it drops, which is the killer list. While this killer roster has more killers than a lot of other asyms on Roblox, every killer feels like they fall under 1 playstyle of a zoner/trappe,r with maybe fogborn as the exception. Every killer in this game feels like they are based around the idea of trapping vapor has the fire cage witch can feel like an instant kill for people trapped in it. Rosemary has demonic essence, which is essentially just a trap that depletes stamina. Ao oni has his ground slam, which i know isnt the main focus of his kit but is still a clear sign they want Ao oni to trap people in. I could go on and with MX/Brutums wall ablity its clear this kind of killer is going to be the only type in the game.
This also doesn't help with the fact I believe the killer roster itself are bad choices for the starter roster as
Nobody played these killers in precode (Fogborn being a minor exception, but he still wasn't popular). I get why Blade wants his OCS in the game, but I'm going to be honest,st NOBODY played these Killers (ragerrs Valem vid is enough proof IMO)
There are NO new killers planned for a while everyone is just a port from pre-code, giving those who already experienced these killers no new ones to look forward to until pal percy and then its probably going to be more precode killers mixed with one or 2 new ones.
Now How i would have fixed this is by picking the most popular killers that fall under a few distinct categories, starting with
PCX-by far the most popular character in precode. From what I've personally seen, he has had a full remodel and would easily fill the speedster rol,e along with MAYBE a time extension ability like Ragemode (no idea how it would work, but could make games more interesting)
MX/Brutum-A more balanced all rounder type killer being slightly rushdown but doing a decent amount of damage while having his old kit stay mostly intact, and MX was probably the second most popular killer
Springtrap/Stonehusk- His more DBD style ranged killer being able to do orbitals and mostly having his old moveset with maybe more of an emphasis on axe throw rather. BBN proved how popular FNAF is to this day and would provide people with a reconsiable killer they can play and enjoy
Jeffery Woods- Ghostface style stealth killer being mostly silent and more of a jumpscare type character. Unsure of abilities other than silent stalker, but would fill the role of the stealth killer. Jeffery Woods was one of the most fun and popular characters in precode
Vapour (starter Killer)- Act as the face of PC2, being the most popular out of Blades OCS, he would fill the insane damage type killer being very slow but having like 70 damage a hit, along with his current moveset, but make spider skulls a move instead of a passive
Hear me out, but Herobrine- Probably one of the most famous creepypastas of all time herobrine would be a crazy trapper/ tricketer, being able to place torches to deal an AOE damage, along with a valem style teleport. This would give Recode an actually new killer, and since Herobrine is essentially like jeff the Killer in that he's a public domain he could just have a minor redesign, and he should be fine.
If PC2 had these more popular killers, people would be more excited to pplay ascharacters they like rather than those they dont care about, and Blades OCS can just be an early 2 killer update if needed.
Killers, in conclusion, are too samey in my opinion and are too irrelevant to characters to truly be popluar with a more general audience that Recode was trying to win over.
Survivors, I'm still somewhat unsure about.
I'm honestly unsure about classes i like them in theory, however i do see how it takes away from what made Pillar Chase, Pillar Chase.
Starting with balance its honestly all over the place. Some classes feel basically cosmetic in how useless they are, while others feel midly overtuned and make killers have to tryhard just to kill them.
I'm not going to go in-depth on each class, as that would honestly take forever and would just be a waste of time, but I'm rather going to sugggest a new idea
PASSIVES
Giving survivors passive perks keeps the chase-oriented nature of precode while still giving some variation in playstyle and some benefits for survivors. giving more stamina or runspeed for other factors like health or stealth. Or maybe ones that double the speed at which your tasks are done. I could go on, but i hope you get the point.
Second this kinda falls into both but tunneling makes this game genuinely unplayable, and while I don't blame killers for tunneling, there is almost no consideration for this as it's almost impossible to survive if your being hard tunneled.
Maybe you could add something to DEINCETIVESE (not 100% stop) and make it much less rewarding to HARD target. Even something as simple as re-adding the flashbang could fix this, as it provides an easier escape for survivors while not making it unfun for killers.
But overall, I actually dont have that many complaints about surviours specifically (not counting game-wide issues)
Moving onto Maps, which i would honestly say is the one of the major contrubiting factors in why this game feels so boring.
They honestly have the 0.2 OM problem, where they just suck and are too big and unfun for both sides to play on.
For a killer, anyone who just hangs around low traffic areas becomes unkillable without a reliable indicator, as it is just too easy to camp a corner and wait for the exit to open on certain maps like Pillar Stronghold.
And for survivor, these maps are riddled with dead ends and confusing map design that leads to death and an overall slower game pace.
I can't give a true fix in just this rant, but i do have 2 suggestions.
Make Killers pick the maps instead of it being a cycle. this would allow killers to be more in control of their rounds and have map-dependent killers actually be viable rather than just be forgotten (of course have preventive measures against people picking the same maps over and over again)
Second just make maps small. I don't understand what lots of roblox Asyms thing is by just adding random areas to a map that are literally just used for survivors to camp in smaller maps would make the game feel a lot faster.Concluding thoughts/ more general issues
This game feels slow. I forgot to mention this in the killer section, but why does every killer have such long endlag/animations? It makes the game feel so much slower when it takes 4 seconds to go from using an ability to actually being in chase, and the bigger maps only make this even more of a problem, as it takes longer to find survivors, and survivors take forever to find the objective.
And while I do think PC2 is the best Asym on Roblox as of right now (I don't like BBN, and OM became too much of a Rage game for me), I'm probably just going to buy DBD until I see an actual improvement in PC2 and Roblox Asyms as a whole
IK THIS IS DONE TO DEATH AND IM PROBABLY A NOBODY To alot of you, but i hope you agree with atleast one thing i ranted about I might reply to some comments and ill probably come for character realses but ive finally gotten FH6 and that has got me addicted to it so i wont be playing much roblox for atleast a month.
