I'm gonna focus so hard on improving my sleep
Hi guys & girls,
To sum it all up - for the last 1.5 years (since December 2024) I've had huge problems with my sleep. It all started after a pretty intense period of applying to jobs and at the same time handling a lot of stress. My body and brain probably just decided to shut down. Before that, I'd sleep 5-6 hours, wake up, sleep for another 2-2.5 hours and wake up feeling good. Of course, this damages my mood, my relationship with my family and everything else.
Now - I wake up atleast every hour or every 2nd hour. Then sleep 1-2 hours again, wake up. Then after that, I sleep in 30-45min cycles. I dream a lot. Every time I fall asleep again. Some nights I don't sleep at all, and I can still sleep bad the next night if I'm having lots of anxiety, which worsens when I sleep bad. On good nights, I can get mostly 6-7.5 hours. But that's after waking up 4-6 times. Once in a while I can manage to get 8-8.5 hours, but that's rarely. Of course, this damages my mood, my relationship with my family and everything else.
May 2025 I finally got a job, and I'm still working here. I had to smoke weed to relax and sleep and it helped me so much. But I don't wanna rely on smoking and decided to stop. Since September 2025 I've lost around 10KGs (roughly 20 pounds I think?) and now I just wanna continue grinding and prioritize my health, especially my sleep. Recover by sleeping is essential for me, and everyone else, of course. My aim for good sleep is waking up as little as possible. My goal is max 2-3 times and get 8 hours of sleep.
My supplements/things I'm taking/doing: Magnesium glycinate, Zinc, L-Theanin, Glycine.
2 Kiwis before good. A nice banana shake. 2 hours before sleep. No screen time. No stress. A warm bath. Sauna after training. I will try to do my best for the next 6 months.
You have any pro tips?
