Picked up a 2019 SEL DSG last year, got the 80,000 mile service done. Great car, but I could use a little more low end torque and pick up.

Reading about stage one tuning, replacing the IS12 turbo with IS20 or IS38, etc., to improve performance.

Got a quote from a well regarded automotive repair shop for stage one tune. It came in at $4800. Strikes me as a bit high. Don’t have skill set to do my own work.

So two questions:

1 what is a reasonable price for a full stage one tune?

2 for what I’m looking for, is it better to do or start with a stage one tune, or move right to a turbo replacement?
