Hill - sachs - please share

Right it's been over a year since my first dislocations due to a hypoglycemic (im T1DM) episode which i became unconscious and somehow both shoulders dislocated and still i'm wondering how this happened but then since this happened my situation has deteriorated

Over the past month alone, I have suffered around 10 shoulder dislocations from normal daily activities.

I had recent scans (arthrogram) back in august last year which showed

Recent MRI scans have shown significant damage to both shoulders. My left shoulder MRI showed:

* A large 2 cm Hill-Sachs lesion
* An extensive circumferential labral tear extending from the 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock position
* Extension of the tear into the biceps anchor

My right shoulder MRI showed:

* A large 22.5 mm Hill-Sachs lesion
* A deficient anterosuperior labrum with findings consistent with a Buford complex

These findings mean the stabilising structures of both shoulders have been significantly damaged from repeated dislocations, leaving the joints extremely unstable.

Because of this condition, I have had to delay starting Medicine at University, as I currently cannot function normally or reliably day-to-day. I have also been informed that NHS surgical waiting times may be around 3–4 years, which is extremely difficult to accept at my age while my condition continues to worsen.

I am trying to raise funds to access surgical stabilisation sooner so I can regain stability, return to normal life, and finally begin the future I have worked so hard for.

The surgeon said that "i cannot move you up as it's only for emergencies day to day"

I have gone down the route of physiotherapy but during my couple sessions in my shoulder popped out i have read that physiotherapy that can strengthen the shoulder stability but to what degree??? anyone agree with this or is surgery the better and safer option?

and is there anything i could do to apply pressure to get that surgery from the NHS i have sent letters from my GPs and they have sent letters to surgeons, but the doctors said its going to be a long wait

Any support — whether through donations or simply sharing this page — would genuinely mean the world to me
