Thunderbird Gmail issues the past couple weeks
Exceptionally slow to download new messages the last couple weeks. Hangs on "connect to imap.gmail.com". Tried all the usual fixes, compact folders, repair folders, windows defender exceptions, troubleshoot mode, even deleted the program and profiles and started with a completely new setup, no changes at all (end up subsequently restoring old profiles). Also getting a bunch of "failed to connect" notifications. It does EVENTUALLY download new messages, and eventually updates folders if I leave the program sit on that folder for a while, but the "get messages" button is essentially useless presently. I've had similar issues in the past occasionally, but one of the standard fixes always made it go away.
I'm on Windows 10 ESU 64 bit. This has me toying with the idea of finally updating to 11 if it would be guaranteed to fix my problem, otherwise I'm perfectly content to stay on 10 for the next year (or longer if ESU gets extended again).
The update last week broke my custom notification sound that I've been using for the last 20 years, clicking "play" after selecting the .wav file results in silence, if I select default system sound that works fine (although that's the same "something is wrong" sound for my PC, so it's a bit unnerving.
