The Watford Vampire is older than we thought (Theory)

We have all seen first and second hand reports about the Watford Vampire online for many years now.

There are also many of us, myself included who have spoken to people who recall seeing him as far back as the 1980s.

One mistake we have all made up until now is that we assumed the 1980s was when the sightings started, but what if we've just been asking the wrong people?

People who were old enough to accurately remember the 1980s are now in their 60s and 70s. Has anyone actually asked people older than this if they've seen the vampire? As far as I'm aware, the only people involved in the discussion are that age or younger.

What if we've missed decades of information by just asking the wrong people?

My theory:

The Watford Vampire has long been associated with rats. Plagues of rats drained of their blood found around train stations, in Cassiobury Park, and even in people's gardens have all been directly linked to sightings of the vampire.

We know that in December of 1943, a rat plague descended on Watford, and millions of rats were killed over the course of the month. See the attached photo from a journalist at the time.

It is my theory that this plague marks the vampire's arrival in Watford.

From here I suggest that we all work together to find sources from that period, and possibly even witness accounts, that may link the Watford Vampire to the town 40 years earlier than we first thought.
