housing as an older first year !
Hi ! I hope everyone is doing well -
I received an offer from ubc a couple of days ago and hadn’t applied to housing before because i figured i wouldn’t meet the requirements anyway - have been out of high school for 4 years ( turning 22 in september ) This is my first undergrad- I wasn’t able to enroll earlier in life due to being diagnosed with cancer and having to figure that out :))
I’m just confused on how to navigate housing in my particular situation so if anyone had any insight about this particular case I would really appreciate it .
I wouldn’t be very comfortable in first years residences due to my age and would obviously prefer a studio but I understand that these are usually harder to get and that my chances for next semester are very limited .
If you had any advice or off campus suggestions I would greatly appreciate it ! I’ve been looking at the menno hall accommodations but they’re at a 2.4k + price point and that might be a bit out of budget .
Thank you again !!
