I can't decide between UCSB and CSUN for film school, any film majors please help.
I am a transfer student pursuing Film and Television production. My goal in life is to become a film director and make my projects, however, I am very torn between where I should go to college.
UCSB has a better college experience for sure. I want to meet cool people, have a nice environment, and just be happier overall with the area I'm living in. I know UCSB has DKA and some film clubs but I've heard it's all theory based, which I don't love.
CSUN is much more hands on. I know that if I went there, I would actually be making films. I would be closer to LA and to job opportunities, and overall I would probably contribute more to my goals as a film maker. However, I don't like the area, the school is kind of iffy, and the people don't seem that dedicated.
I'm torn between the two. If I want to make films, meet great people that stick with me forever, and connect with film makers, all while having a good college experience, what do I do? Can film makers that go to either school give some advice.
