I'm currently on adapalene (0.1% w/w) and benzoyl peroxide (BP – 2.5%). I strictly use the BP during the day and adapalene at night. Here's my routine:

>AM:
Gentle cleanser → BP → Thick ceramide moisturizer → SPF 50 sunscreen

>Post-workout / PM:
Gentle cleanser → Adapalene → Thick ceramide moisturizer

Is it really that important to wait till my skin's bone dry to apply adapalene? Is it harmful if I don't? So far I've just been waiting a few mins till my skin's drier (still a bit damp) and then applying the adapalene. No significant peeling, flaking, etc.

For context I'm a 17-year-old guy, have combination skin type, and have been doing this routine religiously for like 9 weeks.
