Px7 s3 vs px8 vs HDB 630
Hello all,
After about 12 good years with my momentum 1(had to replace the ear cups this year) its time for a change. I have used them daily for so long and really liked the sound.
Budget and location - budget depends on how good they are and durability.
Source/Amp - Ive always prefered passive but its also for commute and an aux just isnt popular anymore + I have troubles with usb c to aux on my phone (yes even with dac/samsung dongles). It would be for every day use and there isnt a bt/aux passive/active combo..
How the gear will be used - preferably every day everywhere anytime like my momentum 1s.
Preferred tonal balance - I love every genre and especially every bass genre but just about everything
Past gear experience - I loved the durability and all round quality of my momentum 1s
Anything else? - I have listened to the px8 and focal bathys from a friend and slightly prefered the bathys sound but the px8 was also great.
Problem is I dont know what to chose. Px7 s3 and px8 are similar in price here. Really didnt like the m4s. Bathys og just isnt worth the 150/200 euros extra over the px8 and the mg is 1k which is too much.
Px8 s2 vs px8 not sure if its worth 400 euros more..
Hdb 630 vs px8 is 150 more, I tried them and its clearer in some ways but lacking in others (punch of the bass even with eq and everything). I also prefer not to tinker with them all the time. Also hdb 630 sound a bit.. quiet?
I can test the hdb 630 and px8 for now but even then both have their merits and slight faults.
Any recommendations? Is px8 s2 worth it? Much better than bathys? What are other peoples thoughts about the ones Ive tried or any good EQ for px8 to sound more clear or good EQ for hdb 630 to have more punch/lively feeling..
