Finally made the switch
Finally bit the bullet and ordered my first pair of Solo’s. There’s no distributor for them in Africa that I could find, so ordering them online was quite scary.
Took some time doing research through forums and Reddit and even NPS’s website when it came to sizing. I opted instead to stick to the same size I wore in the Docs… and boy are they comfortable right out of the box! (Mind the creases, I already used them for a whole day)
Went from the 1460s smooth boots to the 11-eye Greasy Derbys. The Docs were very hard to wear for the first few weeks, but these new Solovairs are so comfortable it’s actually baffling to me.
The Docs served me well for the better part of 5 years, after super gluing the heel back, re-sticking the heel tab back in place and trying to repair the holes in it.
But after getting these, I don’t think there’s any way I can go back. Solovairs definitely seem like the better choice! Here’s to many years of walking more
