I'm asking for advice

Recently, about a couple of days ago or so, I started having a little problem on the sole of my foot. In some spots, especially on the top near the toes and on the heel, it has started to peel a little. It had never happened to me before, every evening I wash the sole of my foot to keep it hydrated but now it's giving me this problem. Any advice on how to deal with it to make it stop?

I was thinking...

I was thinking today while I was doing some shopping, barefoot of course, that there are special creams or balms for dogs to apply to their paws that serve as protection. Why isn't there something similar for people? On very hot days, like the ones we're experiencing now in Europe, it would be great to have some cream or something similar. Especially for those who aren't yet accustomed to being out and about in such high temperatures. And it would certainly be more convenient than the stickers found online.

What do you think?

A Week

I'm proud to say that I haven't worn shoes for over a week now. I'll tell you everything.

As I mentioned in a previous post, last weekend there was a fantasy convention near where I live. On Friday, after dinner, I decided to lighten my load a bit by putting some things I had with me in the car, including the shoes I was wearing. From that moment on, I didn't wear anything else. I spent the evening barefoot, and the following days (as I mentioned in the other post) I just put the stickers on the soles of my feet. By last Monday, I decided to see how long I could go without shoes. The first few days were easy, I didn't have to do much, as I'd only gone out Monday night to visit a friend.

The real "challenge" was Wednesday afternoon.

There was a barbecue with friends on Saturday, and since there were so many, we needed to reserve the meat. So the host and I took the opportunity to run some errands and go and reserve. The commissions involved taking something from an animal rescue center to an outdoor area in the middle of a forest. Once I got to the woods, I obviously remained without shoes, walking on the earth, branches, etc. in that way. After that it was time to go to the supermarket, which was the thing that made me most anxious. We arrived at the supermarket and I plucked up the courage to walk in without any problems, trying to concentrate on what we had to do and it was really relaxing. At one point, a couple of guys stopped me to ask, "Aren't you going to hurt yourself like this?" And I just said, "Just watch where you're going, I'm more comfortable like this." Once we finished at the supermarket, we went to dinner without any problems and there were no problems there either, except for a few looks, which I ignored, however. On Saturday there was the famous barbecue and I had to go back to that same supermarket a couple of times to get things that were missing and this time too without wearing shoes. The last time I wore shoes was last Friday. And I think I'll be able to continue doing so without any problems at least until Wednesday.

I did it.

In an old post or comment of mine a while back I wrote that I was preparing a cosplay for a fantasy fair near where I live. One of the key points of this cosplay was to walk around the fair barefoot. And I managed to do just that. In the early hours of the day, when it's hottest, I'd placed the stickers under the soles of my feet just in case. We're currently having a heat wave in Italy, so I didn't want to take any risks. From a certain point on, however, I removed the stickers and walked the streets barefoot without any problems. Several people asked, and I calmly replied that I felt better this way. All Saturday and all yesterday I was completely barefoot. I went barefoot everywhere I went in the town hosting the fair. It was a fantastic experience. I felt free and at peace.

Another barefoot adventure

Here I am again, telling you about increasingly relaxed barefoot adventures. Today I went out with a friend to accompany him on some errands. The first was to stop by an animal rescue center to deliver two small animals he had rescued (he is a volunteer for associations that deal with this), obviously I went in barefoot. The road wasn't the best, being a dirt road it was full of big and uncomfortable rocks but I got there calmly chatting with him, we went in, he handed over the animals and we went out. Throughout all of this, I always had a pair of shoes in my backpack just in case. After doing this, given the temperatures, we stopped at a nearby shopping center to get a drink. I got out of the car, went to the bar, got a drink, and headed back. Maybe I saw some strange looks here but no one said anything to me. Finally, the last and most satisfying commission was to stop by Maisons du Monde. Here I was more worried because it is a more serious shop than a simple bar and I was afraid that they would say something to me. In the end, apart from a few glances in the parking lot, no one said anything about me being barefoot. It was really nice to walk around so calmly in a shop like that.

Quick adventure

Today I had a quick experience lasting a few minutes but very significant.

Today I'm at a friend's house by the pool, before going to his place I stopped by the Chinese store to buy some water guns.

(Context: Here in Italy, Chinese shops are those stores where you can find everything at very low prices. They are called this because they are generally run by Chinese people. It is not intended to offend any ethnic group.)

Anyway, I leave the house to go to this store, and obviously I leave my shoes at home. Once I get there, I take a deep breath to steel myself and enter the shop barefoot. There were people milling around the store, but I walked calmly as if nothing was happening. I reached the pool area, grabbed the water pistols, went to the register, and paid. All this without anyone telling me anything. I felt incredibly good doing it.
