Linguistics major worth it for ASL interpreter?

Hey all! So I’m sure you guys get somebody coming on here everyday asking if a linguistics major is worth it so sorry in advance and thanks for any help. I recently graduated from community college with my associates and a completion of an asl interpreting program. Since then, I’ve been having some trouble getting my feet off the ground into a career and have been wanting to go back to school for my bachelors. Now, a lot of schools do not have an asl major and most interpreters say it’s not even worth it. I LOVE asl and I loved learning it, but I think I’m starting to realize that might be because I just love learning about language in general. I think I still want to be an asl interpreter but I’m just wondering if you guys think linguistics could be a good path for me? The university I’m looking at offers it as major. I’ve also been looking Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Basically, I’m currently very undecided and want to know, if I end up not wanting to be a full time interpreter but still want to do something language/speech related, what would be a good choice for me?
