Posting this in r/Effexor as well.

So I (18f) am beginning college soon. For context, I drank only a little bit in high school. I did a tiny bit of weed, but this was all before getting on substantial amounts of the medication I'm on, and abilify at all.

I'm hoping to seek out the party scene a bit in college. Thus, I'm hoping to know, does anybody have experience with/know anything about mixing my meds and alcohol/weed? I am on (daily):

-300mg Effexor

-5mg Abilify

-20mg Focalin

-Hydroxyzine, propranolol in moderate doses

I'm also scared to ask a doctor.

Any advice?

I (18f) have been on effexor for ~1.5 years, and I've accidentally double dosed twice. The first time was on 150mg, and the second 300mg.

Obviously, 300 and 600mg of effexor in one day suddenly is not good. It's definitely not the most fun experience in the world.

However, having double dosed twice, I will say: it is going to be ok. Obviously, if you start having extreme side effects, like seizures, tremors, or lots and lots of confusion, you should go to the hospital. But, from my experience, here is what to expect.

You'll be a lot more jumpy than usual. Your heart might rest at a higher rate, and you might get the ants in your pants feeling. You won't be able to sit still, and you might talk a bit more than usual. If it's night, sleeping will take a while.

The thing is, at the end of the day, you're going to be just fine. The effects will wear off, and then your body will be back to normal. Always monitor your body, though, and go to the ER if symptoms get bad enough.

You will get through an accidental double dose. I understand how scary it is, but everything will go back to normal in not too long. You got this!!
