Advice Request: Quality tasteful options for a TKD black belt?
I’m going to be testing close to the end of the year or so for my black belt in WT TKD. My school where I pay tuition at is a large school that has many schools in its network and is taught all by Korean masters but I have to say their logos on their uniforms are a bit cheesy. And I noticed that their students have black belts that have the school name on one end of the belt with the cheesy colorful animal logo/avatar. Some background info: I also train other martial arts and have found the Judo and Kyokushin and BJJ belts to be the most clean, simplistic, and aesthetically pleasing to my eyes.. especially the judo and Kyokushin ones where there’s some tint of orange lettering and the stripes are solid clean gold like - my buddy who’s at that homebase school rocks his own belt (made by Mooto) that has nothing on it even though he’s 3rd dan - it’s a wider quality belt and I don’t mind it but just wondering if there’s anything better - his looks a little faded maybe from washing and drying idk. Some other background info is I reunited with my old master from long ago when I was a little boy as I found out he moved to the state where I’m at now and he was so happy to see me and said I’ll always be his student that he offered for me to come train for free a couple of times a week even though I can only go once but what I’m looking for is a belt I can wear that’s clean and wider than than thin/narrow belts that will have the quality stripes on them when the time comes so I can wear it at both schools. Btw my old master is 9th dan and now President of the Moo Du Kwan and he represents the old tough and hard Korean TKD that I grew up with! He also said in my second class after addressing all his students about testing that he will rank me soon lol I don’t even know what that means but I’m wearing a blue belt with white stripe in his school because my homebase school gave that one to me whereas his school uses a blue with red stripe. But I’m hoping he sees my skill set is above average compared to others at that rank. I’ve maintained 90% of my flexibility after 3 decades of not seeing him. I’m hoping to get back to 100% with time. Sorry for the long post but I’m hoping you guys/gals can lead me to the right product!
