I am just done with the semester. This summer, I have one small research project ( nothing crazy). Suddenly, I am feeling that I have nothing to do!
It's unusual for me. For context, I am in my 3rd year TT. Over the last 2 summers, I have had a large research project, and in one summer, I taught a class.
Now I am feeling there is nothing to do.
Recently, I observed that the students can't understand multiple instructions at once. Lets say there are multiple steps: a, b,c,d and e. They dont understand or follow the multiple steps at once.
But if I instruct complete a, then instruct complete b, and so on, they can do it successfully.
This is not just for one/two students, many of my students just can't follow.
I dont know what could be the reasons. Is this for short attention spans?
P.S: It's not about five different tasks, one assignment/problem->multiple steps
Grant Rejection ! one after another :(
I am a very hard-working person. This time, I also had an experienced co-PI ( who has a history of multiple awarded grants).
I am feeling so heartbroken. I worked day and night to produce the pilot results, to write grants! And output is zero. The grants are getting rejected one after another. Also, it is demotivating me to do any sort of research!
