4 days in Glacier (May 31-June 3)

A buddy and I are taking the Empire Builder to Glacier and renting a car to spend 4 days in Glacier National Park coming up soon here! Neither of us have been to Glacier before and I was hoping to hear any advice or suggestions to help make the trip as smooth, enjoyable, memorable, and SAFE as possible.

We're both active young men looking to do lots of hiking, sight seeing, and wildlife viewing. I know that a good chunk of Going-to-the-Sun road will be closed to cars, but what are some of the best, accessible hikes/trails we could plan for? Some of the ones I am seeing right now that look promising are Avalanche Lake, McDonald Creek/Falls, Trail of the Cedars, Iceberg Lake, and St. Mary and Virginia Falls. Any advice, pointers, suggestions, or wrinkles commented would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
