The Difference between this timeline and my original timeline ( part 1 )
Hi, i’m the poster of this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/ParallelUniverse/s/h4ZDITurh0
Since some were curious about what’s the difference between this timeline and my original timeline.
I'll try to separate it into posts, so no one suffers from reading too much.
Here’s the biggest differences i caught so far based on your wiki and what I could remember from my history classes.
The biggest difference was ww1 no side won, both exhausted, italy with a relatively intact power and under the influence of the Vatican used the chance to take what it can from the Ottoman Empire. that includes north Africa and northern parts of the arab peninsula.
That made the Vatican one of the top powerful organizations
Hitler was still a thing in our timeline, and he was a religious racist fanatic. killed and deported a lot of the people and the ones who escaped were deported later to the northern of arab peninsula.
for ww2 The allies were different, and japan didn’t get involved at all since it was busy with war with china and as a result it wasn't bombed.
It was Germany against France and the British . Russia and US got involved later as after 5 years from the war started when the situation was extremely bad for the world economy, the war continued for 7 years ( not sure ), and ended up with negotiation and a peace treaty.
There was no war airplanes involved because they weren't made until 1960.
Both sides took heavy losses, and it ended up weakening everyone involved, Germany surrendered after
By the end of it people were desperate, which allowed the Vatican and different religious leaders from different religious groups to gain more power.
Arab peninsula was a lot more fractured with more than 16 countries ( not sure of the count ) all fighting internally.
There's no cold war, no space race. Most of us didn’t know anything about space or the stars.
As for the soviet union, it got broken directly after ww2, and Russia got separated to 7 states. as for China it wasn’t big as it’s now.
By 2001 Europe had a civil unrest, demanding separation between religion and the state, 2003 same happened in the US.
