I got tired of budgeting apps that want my bank login, a cloud account, or a monthly fee. So I built my own.

Kestral Budget is a monthly budgeting app where your data stays on your computer. You plan your income, bills, savings and spending, log transactions, and see how real life compares with the plan.

• Unlimited categories and budget items, so it fits however you budget
• Reports for budget performance, cash flow and spending trends
• Dark and light themes
• Free, no subscription
• Windows and macOS desktop app, or self-host it with Docker

It's deliberately simple: no bank connections and no automatic syncing, so you enter transactions yourself.
